Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, an18th century French politician once said, “Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are.”  The 19th century philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach said, “Man is what he eats.” These important words of wisdom continue to ring true. There is a reason why health food is called health food and junk food is called junk food.  When you eat junk food you feel tired, bloated, and sluggish. In contrast, when you eat a well-balanced diet that is rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, good quality fats, and lean proteins, you feel like you have more energy.

Your diet is so important in TCM, it is considered one of the eight main ways in which illness can be treated and prevented.

"Disease should first be treated by diet and lifestyle modification. If that does not cure the problem, only then should acupuncture and herbal medicine be employed".  Sun Si-mio, Tang Dynasty 700 A.D.
